FinOps - Multiple AWS Accounts

In this project, I led a FinOps initiative to analyze and optimize costs across multiple AWS accounts. By reviewing monthly billing data and resource usage, I identified opportunities to reduce expenses while ensuring that recovery capabilities and compliance requirements were maintained.
This involved implementing a tag pattern to better identify and track resources and defining cost allocation strategies, as well as cost-saving measures such as rightsizing EC2 instances, optimizing S3 storage classes, and leveraging Kubernetes for efficient resource management. Another initiative was review the AWS Backup and Disaster Recovery strategy to ensure it was cost-effective while still meeting recovery objectives.
The result was a reduction of 20% in the monthly AWS bill without compromising the reliability or performance of services.
